In the aftermath of the American Civil War, the enigmatic arms manufacturer, Victor Barbicane, unveils his revolutionary invention, a potent power source he dubs Power X. Intending to showcase its potential, Barbicane plans to undertake an audacious expedition - a voyage to the moon.
