In the heart of the desolate mountains, a mother and daughter cultivate a life of profound solitude. The daughter, frail and seemingly detached from the world around her, languishes in her own bleak existence. Her mother assumes the role of a watchful guardian angel, her sole purpose to protect and provide.
Once a pianist of note, the daughter mourns the loss of her husband and son, a tragedy that has left her a shadow of her former self. To safeguard her from this debilitating grief, the mother whisks her away, sequestering her in the mountainous wilderness, far from prying eyes and painful memories. She believes this isolation to be the only antidote to her daughter's suffering.
Yet, in their seclusion, they confront not external threats but their own haunting selves. Surrounded by an unending expanse of forest, they must face the quiet and often unsettling reflection of their existence. 'Forêt Debussy' is a poignant exploration of grief, survival and the lengths one goes to protect those they love.
