In the heart of Crete, two Texans, Charles and Francine Lake, preside over an unusual academy, diligently training a group of girls in the art of Olympic gymnastics and the mysteries of ancient Greek history. Assisting them are three intriguing individuals - an English teacher, a local gym coach, and a janitor, Ulysses. Each is a solitary figure, tangled in their own web of sexual repression.
Despite the rigorous discipline of the school, the twelve girls yearn for a taste of the outside world, lured by the raucous rock music of a visiting band from the mainland. The harmonious rhythm of their lives is shattered when one of them becomes the victim of a sexual assault. The suspicious janitor, known for his voyeuristic tendencies, becomes the prime suspect. In their quest for justice, four of the girls turn to an ancient Cretan ritual, the Bulldance, to exact revenge.
However, their retribution misfires when it is revealed that Ulysses was not the perpetrator, uncovering a labyrinth of hidden secrets within the small island community. Heartbroken and consumed by rage, one of the girls spirals into a storm of violence, culminating in a dangerous dance of defiance against a colossal bull in the arena.
