First Kid (1996)

In the heart of the American power hub resides thirteen-year-old Luke Davenport, the son of the nation's leader, President Paul Davenport, and the gracious First Lady, Linda Davenport. Guarding him is the ill-tempered Agent Woods, whose abrupt dismissal comes after a public display of harsh treatment towards the young boy. In his stead steps Sam Simms, a former boxing champion from 1977, who accepts the daunting task of protecting the presidential progeny, despite its notorious unpopularity. Luke, perceived as a spoiled brat, yearns only for a taste of normalcy, to blend into the crowd at the esteemed Georgetown Academy. His aspirations nearly cost Sam his job when Luke faces off against the school bully, Rob MacArthur. This prompts Sam to impart his boxing wisdom, teaching Luke to stand his ground. Amid the turmoil, Luke's affections are directed towards his classmate Katie Warren, a shared interest with his nemesis, Rob. When the school dance looms, Sam trains Luke in the art of dance, helping him woo Katie. The dance becomes a battleground where Luke triumphs over Rob. Despite this victory, Sam is dismissed for overstepping his boundaries, having escorted Luke to the dance without explicit permission from the stern Secret Service Chief Morton. The Davenports had granted permission, but Morton's apprehension over Luke's safety outside the White House grounds during the campaign season trumps their approval. Nevertheless, Luke ventures out, drawn by an online friend whose identity is hidden behind the veil of the internet. Their rendezvous is set at a local mall, where Luke is shocked to discover his mysterious friend is the vengeful Woods, bitter from his dismissal and hungry for revenge. The stakes rise as Sam, despite his dismissal, jumps back into the fray to shield Luke from the impending danger.
