In the heart of Boston, the paths of Ben Wrightman, a devoted Red Sox superfan, and Lindsey Meeks, an ambitious workaholic, intertwine to create a love story as unpredictable as a championship baseball game. Ben, a man who believes in the distant dream of his beloved team winning the World Series as much as he believes in love, finds his faith in romance revitalized when he meets Lindsey. Winter fuels their connection, allowing them to bask in the warmth of their budding romance without the interference of the baseball season. However, as winter thaws into spring, Lindsey begins to comprehend the extent of Ben's obsession with the Red Sox. Caught on camera acting the fool during Spring Training, Ben's fanaticism raises Lindsey's concerns. Despite her worries, she's willing to play ball, convinced that her pursuit of a promotion will keep her too busy to be affected by Ben's baseball-infused lifestyle. Just as the baseball season swings into full gear, their relationship takes a foul turn.
