In the tragic aftermath of his son's accidental self-inflicted gunshot, seasoned cop Griff McCleary is left to navigate the emotional wreckage, his bonds with his grieving wife Olivia straining to the point of separation. A year on, Griff finds himself entangled in the enigmatic case of a supposed murder-suicide, but his seasoned instincts tell him there's more to it – a murder in disguise. His investigation leads him to the delicate and luckless Nikki, a woman haunted by her ill-fated romantic past. In a twist of fate, Griff becomes her unexpected savior, leading to a tangled web of intimacy between them. However, the revelation of Griff's true identity and his ulterior motives leaves Nikki distraught, culminating in her tragic self-inflicted end. In the aftermath, Griff finds himself suspended from the force, his personal and professional life in shambles. Unbeknownst to him, Nikki's vengeful partner-lover Harlan now stalks the vulnerable Olivia, seeking a cruel revenge against Griff. As the plot thickens, Griff stands on the precipice of his unraveling life, unaware of the imminent danger lurking in the shadows, threatening to consume the remnants of his shattered world.
