Plot

In the heart of Manhattan, a simple janitor, Daryll Deever, harbors an infatuation for the fiery TV commentator, Tony Sokolow, recording her broadcasts daily to savour after his shift. The routine monotony of Daryll's life is disrupted when a wealthy Vietnamese man with a web of shadowy connections is found murdered in his office building. The scent of the story draws Tony to the scene, where Daryll seizes the opportunity to introduce himself. Intrigued by the janitor's proximity to the crime, Tony suspects that Daryll might hold valuable information. He plays along, spinning a web of pretense and half-truths to keep her interest piqued. This romantic dance of intrigue unfolds under the vigilant gaze of the real killers, who, suspecting that Daryll and Tony might be onto something, initiate their own deadly game of deception. Meanwhile, Daryll's best friend, a down-on-his-luck Vietnam War vet, finds himself under police scrutiny. As the tension escalates, Daryll must navigate a labyrinth of danger and desire, where a single misstep could cost him everything. The stakes are high in this enthralling cat-and-mouse chase, where love, murder, and deception intertwine in a suspenseful dance, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats.
