Plot

In the heart of a vibrant city, a shy and obsessive comic book devotee, Devon Gummarsnall, stumbles upon a life-altering opportunity. After witnessing the harrowing death of his partner, he injects himself with an experimental serum from a secretive lab that claims to harness the raw power of spiders. As he dreams of becoming his beloved comic book hero, he begins to manifest uncanny abilities. His newfound strength brings local criminals and bullies to their knees, and his ability to shoot webs from his abdomen transforms him into the talk of the town, the superhero he always yearned to be, and the fascination of his attractive next-door neighbor. However, these thrilling developments soon take a darker turn. As Devon's abilities evolve, he finds himself unable to control his strength, his judgment clouded, his body morphing into a grotesque parody of his spider idol. His dream of heroism curdles into a nightmare of monstrous transformation, uncontrollable power, and a ravening hunger that gnaws at his soul. As his body writhes in constant agony and he sprouts terrifying spider appendages, he realizes he might not be evolving into the hero he imagined but becoming a nightmare he never anticipated. Meanwhile, a tenacious detective, battling his own demons while caring for his traumatized wife, finds himself ensnared in a web of gruesome murders. Each crime scene is marked by bodies swathed in cobwebs and tarnished by lethal spider venom. As the detective delves deeper into the mystery, the line between superhero and monster becomes increasingly blurred. The stage is set for a thrilling showdown, a battle teetering on the edge of horror and heroism in "Earth vs. the Spider."
