Plot

In the year 1971, Portland, Oregon is the playground of Bob Hughes, a man fascinated by golf and entangled in a web of superstition. Bob is a junkie, a leader of a motley crew of outcasts who, when not confined within prison walls, embark on daring heists of pharmaceutical dispensaries across the Pacific Northwest. Their precious loot? Prescription narcotics, both to satiate their own cravings and to barter for other illicit substances with bottom-dwelling junkies like their neighbor, David. Bob's ragtag team comprises of Dianne, his childhood sweetheart turned wife; Rick, a somewhat dim-witted protege; and Nadine, Rick's naive girlfriend who they picked up in the aftermath of a robbery. Bob, the paternal figure of this dysfunctional family, regards Nadine as the weakest link, the expendable pawn in their perilous game. On their tail is PPD Narcotics Detective Gentry and his squad, fully aware of Bob's illicit endeavors and strategizing on how to corner him. Yet, Bob knows he's being hunted, resulting in this dangerous cat-and-mouse chase. An unforeseen incident during their criminal exploits, coupled with the ominous sense of fate closing in, pushes Bob to contemplate a life of sobriety and legitimacy, with or without Dianne by his side. However, he soon realizes that willing change is far removed from actualizing it. As he navigates this treacherous path to redemption, he may find that a haunting memory with Gentry and his men could dictate his destiny.
