Plot

In the world of academia, Walter Gilman, a studious university student, seeks cheap lodgings and finds himself ensnared in a web of supernatural terror. He moves into a creaking, hallowed old house, where the echoes of arcane mysteries and dread seem to permeate every corner. His neighbors, Frances Elwood, a single mother, and her infant son Danny, soon become a part of his life, when he rescues them from the onslaught of an unusually large rat. As Walter delves deeper into his thesis, his attention is drawn to the strange rituals of another tenant, Masurewicz. The old man, consumed by fervent praying and self-flagellation, warns Walter of a witch's curse, a rat bearing a human face, and offers him a crucifix for protection. Walter, too engrossed in his rational world, dismisses these tales of terror, oblivious to the nightmares that creep into his sleep, painting dark visions of a spectral witch and her rodent familiar. When the unsuspecting Walter agrees to babysit Danny, he becomes a pawn in a chilling game of deception. He is ensnared by the malevolent witch who takes on the guise of Frances. A mark on his back seals his fate, and soon, he is forced to confront the terrifying reality of his nightmares. The witch, revealed to be Keziah Mason, and her assistant, the human-faced rat Brown Jenkin, conspire to use Walter in a sinister ritual - a cruel sacrifice of innocent baby Danny to the devil. In this unnerving tale, Walter must grapple with his skepticism and fear, as he stands between an ancient evil and its innocent prey. 'Dreams in the Witch House' is a cinematic journey into the dark heart of witchcraft and the desperate struggle of one man to save an innocent life from unspeakable horrors.
