Double Crossbones (1951)

Unjustly branded as thieves by the crooked Governor Elden of Charleston, youthful Davey Crandall and his ally, Tom Botts, find themselves entangled in the dangerous world of piracy. Seeking escape, they procure passage on the vessel of the notorious local buccaneer, Bloodthirsty Ben. When death looms, they ingeniously feign the deadly pox, triggering a mass exodus by the terrified captain and crew. Left alone on the forsaken ship, they are thrust into an unexpected adventure when a fortuitous cannon shot strikes a mast on a British vessel, leading to a case of mistaken identity - they are now seen as pirates. Steering their newfound destiny, they set course for Tortuga, a haven for the most infamous sea rovers. There, they rally a formidable band of legendary pirates - the audacious Henry Morgan, the ruthless Captain Kidd, the fiery Anne Bonney, and the intimidating Blackbeard. Together, they plot a daring assault on Charleston, aiming not just to reclaim their innocence but to unmask the treacherous Elden and his villainous schemes.
