Plot

Nine tumultuous years have passed since renowned director Haskell Edwards spiraled into a self-induced abyss of addiction, desperately trying to numb the pain of witnessing his beloved, the luminary film siren Cello Shea, take her own life. The echo of her tragic end has left a stain on her shining legacy and has kept Haskell captive in a world of his own despair. An unexpected lifeline is thrown his way when a pioneering tech-firm approaches him with a project that could resurrect the memory of his lost love - a cinematic tribute to Cello's life. The twist? The leading role will be played by a shockingly realistic robot, a technological marvel mirroring Cello in an eerily lifelike manner. Torn between horror and fascination, Haskell finds himself unable to resist the chance of immortalizing Cello's memory and restoring her tarnished image. Thus begins a journey of reassembling his old crew, and even some foes, for the production, forcing him to confront his past relationship with the once-glorified Hollywood starlet. As Haskell delves deeper into the project, he grapples with an escalating obsession with the robot, a perfect yet hollow replica of Cello. Ultimately, the line between reality and artificiality blurs, forcing Haskell to question the nature of his love for Cello, and his growing fixation with a machine - a mere programmed doppelgänger of his one true love.
