Plot
In the wickedly humorous anthology, Death Plots (2005), Mistress Misty masterfully unfolds four captivating tales, each flavoured with a macabre twist of death and personifications of the Grim Reaper. In the first narrative, 'Sitting Vigil', an ambitious woman defies the conventional norms of mortality, pitting herself against the Grim Reaper in a fierce showdown for the life of her terminally ill niece. The second tale, 'Reaps: Central Florida Patrol', plunges us into the shadowy world of Mortay, a novice reaper, and Swansong, her mentor, as they embark on a daring chase to capture an elusive soul on the run. 'Death as a Salesman', the third story, introduces us to a lackadaisical protagonist who encounters a peculiar salesman, peddling 'death' and the various modes of departure - be it with a grand flourish or a quiet sigh. The final tale, 'My Stalker, Death', draws us into the chilling suspense of a private detective's quest to save a young woman who insists she is being pursued by 'Death' itself. Each tale is an exhilarating exploration of the omnipresence of death, and its various facades, wrapped in a delightful blend of horror and comedy.
