Plot

In the heart of Brooklyn, Dean, a New York-based illustrator, carries the weight of profound loss after his mother's death. His father, Robert, an engineer ensconced in the suburbs, grapples with the crushing silence of an empty home, a grim testimony to their shared grief. As they each navigate the murky waters of loss, Dean's life gets further complicated when his ex-fiancée, Michelle, tries to return the symbol of their broken promises - the engagement ring. Dean, however, suggests an alternative use for the ring, a charm bracelet, a poignant metaphor for their altered relationship. Meanwhile, as Dean's best friend Brett prepares to embark on his marital journey, Dean finds himself embroiled in the wedding festivities, albeit as the "second best" man, standing in the shadow of the ever-charismatic Kevin. The wedding becomes a whirlpool of emotions as Dean, distracted by Michelle's date, fumbles with the wedding ring in a moment of high drama. The reception isn’t any less chaotic, with a drunken Kevin hijacking Dean's best man speech, escalating the situation into an unexpected brawl. In the midst of this turmoil, Dean stumbles upon a ray of hope in the form of an enchanting LA woman. As he falls for her, he's also drawn into a battle to prevent his father from selling their family home, a cherished relic of their happier past. "Dean" is a stirring comedy that paints a vivid picture of loss and grief while also highlighting the healing power of love. It's a tale that journeys through despair and disruption, only to find redemption in the most unexpected places.
