“The caper could get $5,000,000. All these American hoods had to do was knock off the nice old lady in World War I flying garb, the eccentric gentleman with the crossbow and the man-eating lion.”

Plot

In the dynamic, crime-riddled city of New York, career convicts Herbie Haseler and Marty Miller find themselves freshly released from prison and thrust into a world they're all too familiar with. These are not your quintessential masterminds; they are bumbling crooks whose previous failed heist has left them owing a towering debt to the formidable syndicate boss, Nick Marco. With their backs against the wall, they have to convince Nick to finance another venture - one they believe is a sure-fire winner. Herbie, the more studious of the duo, having spent his prison stint buried in books, devises a daring plan to rob a stately English manor - the Greyfriar's Manor. Its opulent halls and grandiose rooms are rumored to hold treasures beyond imagination, including priceless paintings and rare antiquities. The manor's eccentric inhabitants, Lord Freddie Fitzmore and his grandmother, Lady Sophie, along with their exotic pets, add an unexpected twist to the plot. Nick, though skeptical, backs their audacious plan, intrigued by the prospect of adding to his collection of rare works of art. He enlists the help of his British contacts, led by the notorious casino owner Frank Finley. When Herbie and Marty land on English soil, they start charming their way into the Fitzmore circle, weaving a complex web of deception. However, things take a turn when they unwittingly become pawns in a dangerous game that threatens to unravel their plan and their lives. Caught in a power play between the Fitzmores, Nick, and Finley, the duo must use all their cunning to navigate the treacherous waters. Meanwhile, the wily Lady Sophie, who has a knack for doing things her own way, might just have her own surprises in store. "Crooks and Coronets" is a thrilling journey of two hapless crooks navigating the labyrinthine world of high-stake heists, eccentric aristocrats, and ruthless mob bosses. Will they manage to pull off the heist of their lives or end up back in the familiar confines of a prison cell? It's a question that keeps you hooked till the end.
