Cops (1922)

Buster, a young man brimming with determination, embarks on a quest to win the heart of Virginia, the privileged daughter of the town's mayor. Dreaming of a prosperous future, he ventures out into the chaotic world of business, naively unaware of the whirlwind of misadventures that await him. Buster's pursuit of success quickly spirals into a comedic calamity. A series of bizarre coincidences and blunders, from mistaken identities to a disastrous business endeavor, render him the city's most notorious figure. One such mishap finds him in the midst of a parade of policemen, burdened with a cartload of furniture and an anarchist's bomb that has somehow found its way into his possession. Unaware of the explosive danger in his hands, Buster casually uses it to light his cigarette before nonchalantly tossing it into the unsuspecting crowd of law enforcement. The ensuing explosion catapults him into a desperate game of cat-and-mouse, hunted relentlessly by every officer in town. As Buster's misadventures continue to escalate, he must rely on his quick thinking to evade capture. Will he manage to dodge his pursuers and clear his name, or will he forever be known as the city's public enemy number one? More importantly, will these tumultuous escapades bring him closer to winning Virginia's heart, or will they push his dreams further out of reach?
