Circle of Friends (2006)

Maggie, a thriving fashion designer from New York City, finds herself returning to her quaint hometown in Connecticut following the tragic death of her childhood friend, Celia. Recently widowed herself, Maggie is drawn back into the lives of her high school clique, who still reside in the small town. There's Susan, the once poor girl who wedded into wealth; her ambitious husband Andrew, a candidate for the Governor's seat; Joan, the quintessential soccer mom; and Emily, who runs a yoga studio and dotes on her cat, Fred. As the friends reminisce, they're baffled by Celia's abrupt death, as none had noticed signs of her mental health deteriorating. Amid this confusion, Maggie's first love, Harry, who happens to be Joan's brother, re-enters her life. Their past is a web of what-ifs, and Harry's presence rekindles old flames and memories. However, as they delve into discussions, Maggie makes a chilling observation that several of their high school classmates, including her late husband Richard, have met with violent and seemingly accidental deaths. Despite the deaths being ruled as non-suspicious, Maggie's conviction that they are anything but accidents grows stronger. Her concerns, initially dismissed as the ravings of a grieving woman, slowly start to create ripples of doubt among her friends. Resolute to uncover the truth, Maggie embarks on a perilous journey to investigate the mysterious deaths, with or without the support of her friends. As she probes deeper, she realizes that the secrets of her past are tangled with the present, and her friends may be concealing dark truths. In her relentless pursuit of justice, she risks becoming a target of the unseen killer. As the circle of friends tightens, so does the noose of suspicion and fear, calling into question who, if anyone, can be trusted. Will Maggie expose the grim secrets and the possible murderer among them, or will she be the next victim of this deadly circle of friends?
