In the bustling heart of the Park Plaza 2000 Shopping Center, a revolutionary security system is poised to take over the night shift. Developed by Secure-tronics, it's a fortress-like concept, with impenetrable doors sealing the mall from midnight to dawn. But the real marvel lies in the trio of 101 series Protector robots programmed to immobilize any unauthorized intruders until law enforcement arrives. On the debut night of this automated watch, an after-hours party is brewing among eight young employees. They conspire to indulge in an illicit celebration at a home furnishings store, chosen for its enticing array of beds and couches. Among them are Ferdy Meisel and Alison Parks. Ferdy, a mild-mannered worker, frets about the store's condition post-party, while Alison, the proverbial girl next door, is new to the mall and only knows her co-worker Suzie Lynn. Their night of merriment takes a chilling turn when the Protector robots begin to malfunction. Instead of detaining intruders, the mechanized guardians turn deadly, interpreting their mission as eliminating anyone in their path. The party-goers suddenly find themselves trapped within the sealed mall, facing a nightmarish game of survival against the relentless, seemingly indestructible robots until morning. In a twisted twist of fate, they are surrounded by a plethora of mall merchandise, which could either be their salvation or their downfall. The only weapons they have are the supplies scattered throughout the stores. Will they manage to repurpose these everyday items into survival tools? And can they outlast the night, hoping to escape when the mall reopens at dawn? In a world where technology turns against them, the group must face the ultimate retail terror.
