Plot

In the harsh yet beautiful expanses of the Old West, Chino Valdez, a solitary horse breeder of mixed descent, endures the sting of prejudice. Straddling two worlds, he chooses seclusion over society's scorn, finding solace in the wild magnificence of his free-roaming mustangs. Indigenous wisdom and Western grit blend in Chino, a quiet testament to the power of resilience. When young Jamie Wagner, a teenage runaway, unexpectedly arrives at his doorstep, Chino's world shifts. Starved for shelter, food, and purpose, Jamie finds himself under Chino's reluctant tutelage. Through the art of raising, breaking, and breeding horses, a unique father-son bond blossoms amidst the rugged landscape, as they learn to accept each other and their shared solitude. But tranquillity is fleeting. The death of a young filly signals the onset of turbulence. Maral, a merciless local cattle baron, views Chino's existence as a threat, a challenge to his authority over the land and its inhabitants. As Maral's relentless hostility escalates, Chino is forced into a battle not just for his home and horses, but also for the woman he loves. In this sweeping tale of survival, love, and kinship, "Chino" is more than just a story; it's a journey through the untamed heart of the Old West, where freedom is as wild and unpredictable as the men who fight for it.
