Plot

Approaching the crossroads of middle age, Xavier, a thought-provoking writer, is ensnared in the chaotic dance of life. At forty, he finds himself sharing the same milestone with Wendy, Isabelle, and Martine, his fellow companions on this unpredictable journey. While most find a steady rhythm at this age, Xavier's life surprisingly reverberates with the wild beats of his twenties. Xavier's bohemian lifestyle receives a jarring wake-up call when Wendy, the mother of his children, flees their shared life in Paris to start anew in New York with a new partner. Left in the wake of this sudden upheaval, Xavier is confronted with a gaping emptiness, an unbearable chasm widened by the absence of his children. The realization hits him like a thunderbolt - he cannot let his children grow up without his presence. Driven by paternal love and desperation, Xavier uproots his life in France and sets off on a transatlantic journey to the bustling heart of New York City. He finds himself in the vibrant labyrinth of Chinatown, a new home teeming with life, mystery, and the promise of a fresh start. However, as Xavier soon discovers, the Big Apple has a knack for hurling curveballs, and it isn't long before trouble starts knocking at his door. "Chinese Puzzle" unfurls the tapestry of Xavier's life, woven with threads of love, parenthood, and the pursuit of stability amidst life's chaotic whirlwind, all set against the vibrant backdrop of a city that never sleeps.
