Plot

In the bustling city of Sydney, young PS navigates life in the shadow of his mother's passing, finding solace in the humble abode of his working-class Aunt Lila and Uncle George. His days are filled with the simple joys of childhood—playing with peers, exploring the outdoors, and expressing his youthful spirit freely. However, his world is soon disrupted by the arrival of his aristocratic Aunt Vanessa from England, who, armed with a co-guardianship bestowed by PS's elusive, negligent father, seeks to stake her claim in his upbringing. With a blend of persuasion and assertiveness, Vanessa convinces Lila to let PS reside with her on weekdays. She introduces PS to a world far removed from his comfort zone—a meticulously structured life of private schooling, disciplined piano and riding lessons, modified speech, and solitary play with extravagant toys. This stark contrast to his life with Lila leaves PS feeling isolated and unhappy. His objections fall on deaf ears, leading Vanessa to pursue full custody. Caught in this tug-of-war between two drastically different lives, will anyone pause to consider PS's desires? And amidst Vanessa's relentless challenges, will PS manage to discover his true identity and the ability to love? The movie "Careful, He Might Hear You" is an emotional journey of a young boy's struggle for autonomy in a world driven by adult decisions.
