George and Harold are two fourth-grade students at the dreary, boring and miserable Jerome Horwitz Elementary School in Piqua, Ohio. To lighten things up, the boys play numerous pranks on their teachers, including gluing them to chairs and bringing an actual lion to class. But then they play the ultimate prank – they hypnotize the principal and make him believe he is a superhero called Captain Underpants. He fights crime wearing only his underwear briefs and a cape. Things quickly get wacky and out of control when Captain Underpants jumps out the window and goes on an incredibly nutty crime-fighting spree.
