Bucktown (1975)

In the deep heart of the South, Duke Johnson arrives in the quiet town of Bucktown, burdened with the grim task of laying his brother to rest. The simple act of saying goodbye soon entwines him in a tangled web of local bureaucracy, forcing him to remain in the town for sixty long days until his brother's estate is finalized. Finding solace in the echoes of his late brother's legacy, Duke rekindles the spirit of the town by reopening the once-thriving nightclub. But as the music begins to pulse again, the sinister shadows of corruption begin to loom. Local law enforcement, their badges tarnished by greed and malice, target Duke with escalating threats of violence, seeking to extract their share from his new venture. Tenacious and unyielding, Duke refuses to bow to their menacing demands. With his confidante Aretha by his side, he stands his ground, only to face the wrath of the crooked cops. Cornered, Duke sends a call for aid, reaching out to his old comrade, Roy. The cool operator answers the call, bringing a band of relentless allies to bring a storm of justice to the corrupt town. With the lawmen silenced, Duke finds a moment of respite, letting his guard down. However, the calm proves to be the deceptive eye of the storm, as the situation spirals out of control again, leaving Duke to grapple with escalating chaos. Now, it's up to Duke to settle the score, realizing that in Bucktown, trust isn't a given, it's earned.
