Plot

In the heart of Brussels, Charlotte, a German doctor, balances a complex double life. At one end, she is a devoted wife to her architect husband, Max, and a nurturing mother to their young son, living a life steeped in familial warmth. Yet, she harbors a secret that threatens to shatter this idyllic existence - she rents an apartment to rendezvous with her less attractive patients, surrendering to illicit trysts. Despite her clandestine affairs, her marital bed is a sanctuary of trust and security. However, when one of her chosen patients seeks emotional intimacy instead of physical, Charlotte's world teeters on the brink of chaos. Plagued by the man's advances, she suffers a nervous breakdown, leading to an outburst that unveils her secret. With her double life exposed, Charlotte's world crumbles. She loses her esteemed position as a doctor, and her marriage teeters on the precipice of dissolution. Determined not to let their union shatter, she and Max embark on a journey of therapeutic reconciliation. Two years on, the family relocates to India, where Max continues his work as an architect. The birth of their twins seems like a beacon of renewed happiness. Yet, the ghost of Charlotte's past persists, casting a shadow of doubt on their newfound bliss. Max, unable to fully banish his suspicions, finds himself trailing her on her morning walks, a silent testament to the lingering mistrust.
