Plot

Michael Peterson was initially just sentenced to seven years for robbing a post office. That was 1975, and Peterson was 19. Since then, Peterson has been behind bars for 34 years and in solitary confinement for most of that time. As the system breaks down Peterson, his behavior becomes increasingly erratic and violent. Soon, Michael is known as Charles Bronson, and nothing seems to remain of the boy who went to prison. Half an indictment of punitive justice and half an act of performance art, Bronson's unique commitment to violence makes him a celebrity throughout Britain and a surprising face for the prison reform movement.
