Plot

As the festive cheer of the Christmas season descends, we find Lauren Kim, a driven marketing executive, celebrating the holiday with her divorced father Leo, and her stepmother Yung, their lives shadowed by the absence of her mother who left to chase her free-spirited dreams years ago. Lauren's Christmas traditions extend to her best friend, Nate Sagar, a compassionate social worker, raised in the foster care system. Their bond transcends romantic entanglements, and this year, with neither involved in a relationship, they reunite for the holidays. Nate, recently focused on establishing a community center for foster children, welcomes the festive season with a heart full of accomplishment. As the Christmas Eve deadline for a work project looms, a late-night visit from the spirit of her first boyfriend, the eternally fifteen-year-old Tyler Mirsky, jolts Lauren's routine life. Tyler foretells a week filled with spectral visits from three other past boyfriends, all intending to reveal her recurring relationship mistakes. Guided by Jake, Henry, and Logan, Lauren confronts her fear of commitment, a pattern made more complex by Nate's constant presence in her life. But understanding her actions and their repercussions might require a glimpse into an unexpected future with Nate. In this festive narrative, Lauren's journey of self-discovery intertwines with the magic of Christmas, promising a tale of love, friendship, and the power of past relationships.
