Bollywood Beats (2009)

In the vibrant whirl of dance and dreams is where we find Raj, an endearing young Indian who is grappling with the rhythm of life. His dreams of dancing glory constantly evade him, his love life has crumbled to a tragic end, and his own parents are on the brink of showing him the door. As Raj waltzes on the edge of despair, a ray of hope pirouettes into his life in the form of Jyoti - a charismatic older woman who inspires him to kickstart a dance class for Indian women. Initially skeptical, Raj finally succumbs to the idea, seeing it as an opportunity to keep his passion alive. The dance class, however, starts on a shaky note. But soon, it begins to flourish, attracting an eclectic mix of students. Among them is Laxmi, a newly-immigrated housewife, Puja, a disinterested high-school girl prodded by her grandmother Vina, and Vincent, a brave gay teen who yearns to dance despite his father's disdain. Just as Raj's dancing family begins to synchronize their steps, an opportunity of a lifetime leaps into the spotlight. Raj snags a chance to choreograph for an up-and-coming music sensation. But the spotlight casts a shadow of doubt. As he teeters on the precipice of his lifelong dream, he is torn between the allure of fame and the heartfelt bonds he has built with his dance class.
