Billy the Kid Trapped (1942)

In the lawless landscape of the wild West, Billy, Fuzzy, and Jeff find themselves snatched from the jaws of death by shadowy saviors. No sooner does their relief set in than they realize the countryside has been plunged into terror. A sinister trio, bearing an uncanny resemblance to Billy and his companions, are leaving a trail of robbery and bloodshed in their wake. Sheriff Masters enlists the real Billy and his comrades to hunt down their doppelgängers, a pursuit that leads them straight into the viper's nest - Mesa City. A den of iniquity under the iron fist of the manipulative Jim Stanton, Mesa City is where the deceptive trio of Montana, Pete, and Curly operate. These ruthless killers, under Stanton's command, have been masquerading as Billy and his sidekicks, sowing chaos and committing heinous crimes. Despite the odds, Billy manages to apprehend these impostors, only for them to be set free by the corrupt Judge Clarke, a puppet in Stanton's control. Stanton, unwilling to let his plans falter, appoints his henchman Red Barton as the new sheriff, with explicit orders to eliminate Billy. Once again donned in their deceptive disguises, Montana, Pete, and Curly strike, robbing the stagecoach and leaving Billy, Fuzzy, and Jeff to pick up the pieces. With their reputations tarnished, our heroes must navigate a twisted game of shadows and deception, battling not only to clear their names but also to bring justice to the outlaw town of Mesa City.
