In the tranquil heart of Ascension, Washington, nestled against the formidable Mount Lincoln, an ominous chain of events begins to unfurl. Thomas Walsh, a hardworking constructor, is confronted by a series of unnerving tremors that result in the tragic death of one of his team members. Meanwhile, his sister Grace Walsh ventures into the wilderness of the mountain with her lover, Jerrod Dietrich, unaware of the rising menace. Their father, William Walsh, a man seen as an eccentric by the town, fervently insists that an ancient entity, prophesied to bring about global destruction, is on the brink of its awakening.
