Parallelly, the BBC war correspondent Jerry Higgins, permanently disabled from his war coverage, develops an unusual wish, pushing him towards extraordinary lengths to fulfil it. The narrative takes an unexpected turn with Griffin Midge, a troubled and drug-addicted youth, whose life is irrevocably altered on witnessing the raw, devastating impact of the war first-hand. In the midst of these personal stories, a bitter feud emerges between a Serb and a Croat, their animosity intensified by forced cohabitation.
