Plot

In the bustling heart of Brooklyn, newlywed newspaperman Mortimer Brewster, renowned for his vehement arguments against the institution of marriage, makes a quick trip home to introduce his bride to his two seemingly sweet and generous maiden aunts. However, the serene façade of the Brewster household masks a chilling secret that Mortimer stumbles upon. His doting aunts, it turns out, are not just hospitable to lonely old men but are also their executioners, burying the victims in their cellar. The plot thickens when Mortimer finds the body of the aunts’ latest victim hidden in plain sight within a chest in their living room. Driven by a mix of horror and responsibility, Mortimer attempts to obliterate the evidence of his family's nefarious activities. However, his plans are thwarted with the unexpected arrival of his deranged, serial-killing brother, Johnny, accompanied by his equally eccentric plastic surgeon, Dr. Einstein. As Mortimer grapples with the macabre reality of his family and his own conflicting beliefs about marriage, the audience is plunged into a whirlpool of dark comedy and suspense. Arsenic and Old Lace weaves a tale of matrimony, murder, and mayhem, where nothing is as it seems, and everyone has a skeleton - or several - in their closet.
