Aquarians (2017)

Returning to his frost-kissed Wisconsin birthplace, Silver River, after a lengthy absence, seminary student Daniel Sullivan finds himself on a mission of mercy. He's there to aid the ailing Father Rob, but to do so, he must first navigate a labyrinth of skepticism, given his estranged relationship with his younger brother, Jake—a reclusive figure lost in the smoke of his marijuana trade. Aiding him on this journey is a woman from his past, a familiar beacon in this chilly wilderness. Together, they locate Jake, and what ensues is a riveting journey of faith, temptation, and the simple pleasures of ice fishing, underscored by a haze of drugs and the pulsating rhythm of rock 'n roll. As they journey together, they begin to confront the shadowy specters of a shared tragedy that has defined their lives, unearthing old scars and perhaps, a path to healing.
