Plot

In the heart of the League of Nations, Lord Frederick Barker, the British representative, grapples with impending global conflicts threatening to spiral into war. His dedication to his role leaves little room for personal affairs, inadvertently neglecting his beloved wife, Lady Maria Barker. Oblivious to her growing loneliness, Frederick remains immersed in his work, leaving Maria to wrestle with her emotions. To escape her feelings of neglect, Lady Maria embarks on a clandestine journey to Paris, adopting an alias known only to her confidante, the Grand Duchess Anna Dmitrievna, an exiled royalty from Russia. The Grand Duchess, notorious for facilitating thrilling experiences with discretion, hosts Maria in her salon, where destiny introduces her to the charismatic playboy, Anthony Halton. A romantic escapade unfolds as Maria and Halton, oblivious of each other's identities, find themselves drawn to one another, with Halton affectionately christening Maria as his "Angel". Maria, however, refrains from revealing her identity, leaving their future hanging in the balance until the following Wednesday, 5pm at the Grand Duchess' salon. However, the situation turns complex as Tony and Frederick, comrades from the Great War, unknowingly rekindle their friendship, sharing mutual admiration. Amidst this tangled web of relationships, the suspense builds around who, if anyone, will appear at the Grand Duchess' salon at the decided time. This intricate tale of love, neglect, and hidden identities weaves a captivating narrative, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats.
