Alter Egos (2012)

In the world of capes and superpowers, Brendan, better known as Fridge, the superhero with the power to instantly form ice, grapples with an identity crisis. Torn between his nerdy, human side and his heroic alter ego, he becomes envious of his own super-powered self when he realizes that his girlfriend Emily is more attracted to the dashing Fridge than to the ordinary Brendan. His fellow superhero and friend, C-Thru, urges him to embrace his human side, shed his icy suit, and cleanse himself of his superhero persona. However, in an era where superheroes are falling out of public favor and government support is dwindling, their role becomes even more challenging. Their gloomy days reach a climax when they are tasked with guarding Shrink, the last captured supervillain, until he can be safely transported under the cover of darkness. While stationed at a motel to complete their mission, Brendan crosses paths with Claudel, the motel manager with a distaste for superheroes, and Jimmy, a bitter cop equipped with the power to turn invisible for only brief moments. As Brendan and Claudel begin to form an unexpected bond, Brendan stumbles upon a scheme that threatens not only his freedom and reputation, but also the very essence of his dual existence. In the face of this impending crisis, Brendan must navigate his complex identities and determine where his true loyalties lie.
