A Touch of Class (1973)

“Not since Gable battled with Colbert and Hepburn battled with Grant has comedy been such fun. Watch Segal take on Jackson.”

Plot

Wrapped in the bustling aura of London, Steve Blackburn, an American insurance heir, finds his path frequently crossing with Vickie Allessio, a self-proclaimed design "stealer" for a fast-fashion house and a recent divorcee. As destiny weaves its thread, they find themselves entangled in a web of desire before they even truly know each other. Steve, a veteran of clandestine affairs, makes his intentions clear - he wants a dalliance with Vickie, his wife Gloria, a scion of old money, conveniently absent in the States. Vickie, with a spark of audacious pragmatism, agrees to the proposition, stipulating it must be a high-class affair, preferably a sun-drenched weekend away, far from the prying eyes of London. Seizing the opportunity, Steve organizes a business trip to Málaga, Spain, convincing Vickie to extend their weekend into a week-long escapade in the nearby resort town of Marbella. As they embark on their illicit adventure, a cascade of unexpected obstacles threatens to derail their passionate holiday. They must navigate through these challenges, or risk losing their chance at stolen euphoria. Should they succeed, they find themselves faced with another dilemma - reconciling this newfound love with their existing commitments. Steve, a devoted father and husband, and Vickie, caught in her own emotional whirlwind, must grapple with the reality of their feelings amidst the chaos of their 'cozy ménage'. As they return to London, they must confront the truth: their rollicking week of passion in Marbella has evolved into something far deeper, forcing them to question their current lives and what they truly desire.
