In the dust-bitten town of Suttonville, teetering on the edge of lawlessness, an enigmatic bounty hunter known as Blade bursts onto the scene. Known for his unusual choice of weaponry - a hatchet in place of a gun - Blade's arrival follows his successful claim on the bounty for a notorious outlaw, Burt Craven. The town's mayor, McGowan, a man bound to the confines of his wheelchair, and his deceptively corrupt sidekick Voller, promptly hire Blade. Their mission for him?
