Plot

Sabine, a passionate art history student from Le Mans, finds herself ensnared in the charm of Paris and the arms of her lover, Simon, a painter. Their love story, however, is as fleeting as their stolen moments in his studio, interrupted by familial responsibilities that Simon cannot escape. Tired of her liaisons with married men, Sabine makes a bold decision. She is going to find a husband, a good one, though she has no idea who he might be yet. As she navigates the labyrinth of her heart's desires with her confidante, Clarisse, Sabine comes to the realization that finding a man is not the challenge, it's securing a good marriage. Love, she believes, is not just a feeling, but an act of will. At a lavish party, Clarisse introduces Sabine to her cousin Edmond, a busy Parisian lawyer. Clarisse, a romantic at heart, insists that she saw sparks flying between them, a love-at-first-sight connection that Sabine vehemently denies. Encouraged by Clarisse, Sabine decides to pursue Edmond, inviting him to Le Mans. Edmond, despite his hectic schedule, visits her, and Sabine interprets his behavior as signs of his love for her. Emboldened, Sabine announces to everyone that she is going to marry Edmond. But her dreams shatter when Edmond doesn't reciprocate her feelings. Despite her desperate attempts to reach him through numerous phone calls and messages, he remains elusive. In a final act of despair, Sabine confronts Edmond at his office, where he confesses that he doesn't love her. As the plot unfolds, Sabine's search for a good marriage, love, and will intertwines, creating a poignant narrative on the complexities of love and relationships.
