As his strength wanes, he entrusts his empire to the faithful Tano, bypassing his own son, Ángel, whom he deems unworthy. Assisted by his motley crew of Paul, Roberto, McCoy, and Eduardo, Tano navigates the perilous underworld, greasing the palms of politicians and law enforcement to maintain a smooth operation. However, their world begins to crumble; profits plummet, a lethal new drug infiltrates the city, and their Moroccan drug shipment is stolen by a mysterious masked gang.
