A Better Life (2011)

In the heart of sunny California, Carlos Galindo, a hardworking single father of Mexican descent, toils away as a gardener, striving for a brighter future for his fourteen-year-old son, Luis. Haunted by the specter of Luis being lured into the local gang culture, Carlos invests in a truck for his gardening business, using funds loaned by his caring sister. However, the fragile equilibrium of his life is shattered when the vehicle is snatched by a deceitful new recruit. In their relentless pursuit to retrieve the stolen truck, Carlos and Luis embark on an unexpected journey of bonding, navigating the shadowy corners of their city. When they eventually locate the truck, now in the clutches of a local impound lot, their triumph is short-lived as their actions have drawn the eyes of the local law enforcement.
