Plot

Caught in the drudgery of her mundane existence, 32-year-old Ichiko (Sakura Ando) finds solace in the chaotic comfort of her parents' home. Her life, however, takes an interesting turn when her recently divorced sister, Fumiko, moves back with her young son, stirring the pot of their already tense domestic life. A heated altercation prompts Ichiko to break free from her cocoon, propelling her into an independent life fraught with uncertainties. With limited avenues for self-reliance, Ichiko steps into the nocturnal world of a 100 yen shop, immersing herself in the unique rhythm of its dollar store charm. Her daily journey to and from work becomes a silent rendezvous with a boxing gym, where she becomes enamored with the stoic diligence of a boxer, Yuji Kano (Hirofumi Arai). As Ichiko and Yuji's lives intertwine, a newfound spark ignites within Ichiko, setting the stage for her to face life head-on. 100 Yen Love is a tale of resilience and rebirth, where the underdog Ichiko finally steps into the ring with life, ready to take on the world as the bell tolls for her long-awaited rematch.
