Plot

In the bleakly humorous drama of You, Me and the Apocalypse, humanity stands on the precipice of annihilation. A formidable comet, eight miles in diameter, has set its sights on Earth, promising catastrophe within a mere thirty-four days. As the countdown to oblivion begins, a motley crew of seemingly unconnected individuals grapples with their peculiar predicaments, their lives intertwining in the most unforeseen ways. In the quaint town of Slough, we meet Jamie, a mild-mannered bank manager played by Mathew Baynton. He's a man trapped in the monotony of an orderly existence, haunted by the absence of his vanished wife. His world flips upside down when he finds himself accused of cyber terrorism, leading him to discover the existence of his identical twin and a web of family secrets his mother, Paula, has been hiding. Thousands of miles away in New Mexico, the sweet and unassuming librarian Rhonda, portrayed by Jenna Fischer, finds herself in the chilling confines of a maximum-security prison. Wrongfully convicted, she unintentionally falls under the protection of the eccentric and volatile white supremacist, Leanne, brought to life by Megan Mullally. Their unlikely alliance adds a touch of absurdity to their dire circumstances. Meanwhile, within the sacred walls of the Vatican, Father Jude, a razor-tongued renegade priest played by Rob Lowe, crosses paths with the enchanting Sister Celine (Gaia Scodellaro). Their encounter unfolds in Father Jude's office, an unlikely setting dedicated to the Devil's Advocate. With the impending apocalypse looming overhead, our unlikely band of characters, along with some others, converge beneath the Slough suburbs. Here, they prepare to witness the end of the world from the dubious comfort of an underground bunker, becoming an improbable and somewhat ill-suited representation of humanity's future. As the world braces for impact, their stories unravel on television screens, offering a poignant view of mankind's final days.
