Plot
This series is a spinoff of The Daily Show. It is a comedy that stars Steven Colbert who plays a news anchor who has a big, overly patriotic ego when he reports the news. While he covers the real news of the day in the United States and around the world, he puts a satirical spin on everything and includes humorous commentary. He touts patriotism over knowledge and encourages his audience to trust their gut and not bother with the facts. He has real guests who must be prepared for unusual questions as he aggrandizes himself and minimizes their input.
