Nestled in the gloomy expanse of Yorkshire, the elderly Tom Parfitt (Sir Michael Palin) cleverly orchestrates a fall at his antiquated terraced abode, seeking refuge in a care home. Yet, the mysterious events that follow his arrival are far from welcoming. In a baffling incident, the social worker accompanying him is hurled from the fortified fourth-floor window of Tom's room, with no other company than the frail Tom himself. The eerie circumstance piques the curiosity of young care assistant Hannah Ward (Jody Comer), while the local constabulary, led by the melancholic Detective Rob Fairholme (Mark Addy), appears indifferent. As if caught in a malevolent vortex, those who cross paths with Tom confront an unsettling surge of bizarre occurrences, ensnaring Hannah and her unsuspecting family. In a perplexing twist, Tom vanishes from his hospital bed, leaving behind no traces or explanations. Finding herself drawn back to the enigma of Tom’s home, Hannah embarks on an investigative journey, unearthing a trail of clues that guide her to Scarborough.
