Olive Kitteridge (2014)

This is a four-part miniseries that is based on the novel Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout. It takes place over 25 years in a fictional small Maine town. Each episode covers a certain point in time. Olive is a very strict math teacher who sees the crime, affairs and tragedies that lie below the surface of her small, quiet town. She has a kind and considerate husband and a troubled son. Over the years, she has to deal with her own issues such as depression and bereavement while handling her son’s antagonism, her job and friction with family and friends.
