Plot
The life of the United States Secretary of State is a chaotic one, and Elizabeth McCord is hardly a conventional Secretary of State. She spent 20 years in the field as a CIA analyst and a time as a professor before being placed in her position. That lends her a unique understanding of foreign relations, but she also has to struggle with the politics of White House bureaucracy and competition from rivals within the Beltway. McCord already has trouble balancing her personal life with her position as Secretary of State, but she has ambitions that go beyond a cabinet position.
