Plot

As a boy of only ten, Enzo Ferrari's life is forever altered by the thrill of a car race in the neighboring village. This early fascination sets in motion a lifelong obsession with vehicles and speed. No sooner is he old enough to grip the steering wheel, he embarks on a career as a race car driver. His ambitions soon evolve beyond the track, as he aspires to form a racing team of his own. His proposal is snubbed by Fiat, but Alfa Romeo recognizes his potential and appoints him as team manager. Passionate and unrestrained, Ferrari introduces his family to his world of roaring engines and adrenaline. Despite his wife's reservations about the boisterous environment for their young son, Dino, Ferrari is resolute, envisioning his offspring as his successor. His reputation flourishes, eventually leading him to establish his own company, Scuderia Ferrari. His infectious enthusiasm is reflected by his devoted team, including racing legends Giuseppe Campari and Tazio Nuvolari. However, the arrival of German troops in Italy brings trouble for Ferrari, who is accused of manufacturing weapons for the Italian resistance. Despite the protection of an officer who's an ardent Ferrari fan, he is forced into hiding. The post-war period sees him rebuilding his shattered factory and pushing his own boundaries. Upon regaining his footing in the industry and recovering from his ordeal, he faces a personal tragedy. His son Dino is diagnosed with a severe form of muscular dystrophy. The regret of not spending more time with him becomes a ghost that haunts Ferrari, shadowing his victories and accomplishments, and adding a poignant depth to his remarkable journey.
