Plot
Empires are at their most fragile in a time of transition, and that's the situation facing Lucious Lyon. As the CEO of Empire Entertainment, he's one of the biggest moguls in the hip-hop industry. But after learning that he has a terminal medical condition, he has to make the difficult decision of determining who will carry on his legacy. Each of his three sons are gifted and immature in their own ways, and Lucious tests them by turning them on one another. But Lucious' ex-wife Cookie has also entered the mix, and she wants a piece of the company after a 17-year stint in prison.
