Death in Paradise (2011)

Many Scotland Yard detectives would be overjoyed to be sent to a tropical paradise, but Richard Poole is no ordinary man. He hates the beach, and so there's nothing more miserable that he can think of than being sent to the Caribbean island of Sainte Marie to investigate the murder of a policeman. But Poole was picked for a reason — and his prodigious competence as a detective will lead him to taking on work full time in Sainte Marie. It may not be the place he dreamed of living, but he recognizes that it's somewhere he can do unique good.
