In the waning years of the 20th century, the Earth Defense Force Sky Force operates an orbiting Earth space center, spearheading the advanced "J-Project" under the astute command of Aya Odagiri. The project's cutting-edge "Birdonic Waves" technology promises to imbue humans with extraordinary abilities, a revolutionary leap in the fight against evil. Ryu Tendoh, a brave volunteer, becomes the first official member of the newly formed Jetman team, as he willingly steps under the glow of the Birdonic Waves.
However, the space center's tranquil harmony is shattered when the Vyram, a malevolent organization from an alternate dimension with a ruthless ambition for domination, launches a catastrophic attack. In the ensuing chaos, the space center crumbles, extinguishing the lives of countless humans on board. The remaining Birdonic Waves, meant for the four other chosen officials, scatter across the Earth, inadvertently imbuing four unsuspecting civilians with superhuman abilities.
Amid the ruins of their once formidable space center, Odagiri and Tendoh, the survivors, embark on a desperate search for these four civilians. The challenge is formidable: these ordinary individuals, untrained in military tactics and burdened with personal issues, must learn to unite, overcome their differences, and harness their newfound powers. Their mission is not just to complete the Jetman team but to save Earth from the relentless Vyram, led by the merciless Count Radiguet. The future of the planet hangs in the balance as these unlikely heroes rise to the challenge.
