Plot

In the haunting aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the residents of New Orleans find solace in the innovative, yet ominously rogue pharmaceutical, ZOMBEX. Touted as a revolutionary treatment to eradicate depression and post-traumatic stress, the city, still bearing the scars of a natural disaster, embraces this newfound hope. But the promises of this 'clinically-proven' medication, manufactured by a shadowy organization, soon take a chilling turn. As the city begins to awaken from its trauma, a fresh horror unfolds. The Big Easy's rejuvenated populace starts transforming into the walking dead, the result of a chilling side effect of ZOMBEX. Now, the city once ravaged by nature must confront a man-made disaster of apocalyptic proportions. Set against the atmospheric backdrop of New Orleans and the vast expanses of Texas, ZOMBEX is a hommage to classic and contemporary zombie cinema. It weaves a harrowing tale of survival as the city's remaining inhabitants embark on a desperate caravan to Austin, Texas, the last beacon of hope for a potential vaccine. Drawing from the dark intensity of films like '28 Days Later', 'The Crazies', and 'Dawn of the Dead', and the nostalgic terror of classics like 'Zombie' and 'Dellamorte Dellamore', ZOMBEX constructs a unique, gripping vision of a post-apocalyptic America. Private military firms swoop in for a futile clean-up, but the fight for survival is just beginning. Will the city's beleaguered residents reclaim their home, or will New Orleans surrender to this undead nightmare? The answer lies within ZOMBEX, where horror is just a pill away.
